Activity description
The excursion starts in Novalja, from where you will be transported by bus to Šibenik, a marvelously preserved medieval town with 27 churches. The sightseeing tour starts near the theatre and continues along Zagrebačka Street, and the majority of churches, squares and palaces, and then through narrow streets, arched passages and up flights of stairs to the St. Lawrence Monastery, with a botanical garden where various herbs and medicinal herbs are being grown. A 20-minute break. After the break you continue along Juraj Dalmatinac Street to the Four Wells Square and the Cathedral Square with a water reservoir, which in the era of the Turks and Venice supplied the town with water. The excursion ends with the visit to the Cathedral of St. James, a work of Juraj Dalmatinac, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000. It was built using a particular technique for the joints. Return to Novalja in the afternoon.
