Tour description
The Roman Empire left a significant and indelible mark on the territory of Dalmatia. Even the island of Pag, the most indented island in the Adriatic, did not escape this influence. The sunken Roman city of Cissa, today’s Caska, which is mentioned in numerous legends, and the former Navalia, today’s Novalja, are rich archaeological sites from which we can learn about the way of life in past times. The two cities are connected by the hand-hewn, 1,042-meter-long, ancient underground aqueduct Talijanova buža, a fascinating monumental heritage of the island.
Visit the archaeological sites of Pag, take a boat ride over the sunken Roman city of Cissa and learn more about its history by visiting museums and attending expert lectures. Gain additional knowledge by visiting the ethnographic collection in Kolan. End your educational experience about the life and traditions of the island in the best possible way – by tasting the local specialties.
