Tour description

This adventurous tour through Croatia combines stunning natural beauty, rich history, and unforgettable activities for the whole family. Your adventure begins in the Krka National Park, where you’ll be mesmerized by the spectacular Skradinski Buk waterfall, one of Croatia’s most famous natural landmarks. From there, you will explore the impressive island of Pag, known for its unique landscapes and history, before heading to the tranquil islands of Olib and Silba. Here, you can unwind on pristine beaches, swim in crystal-clear waters, and experience the peaceful atmosphere that is perfect for a family retreat.

For adrenaline seekers, the tour includes a magical night kayaking adventure in the Bay of Pag and exploration of the stunning canyons and forests of Paklenica National Park. You’ll also enjoy kayaking through the emerald waters of the Mrežnica River, a perfect way to relax and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty.

The tour concludes with a visit to the UNESCO-listed Plitvice Lakes National Park, where you will walk along breathtaking waterfalls and turquoise lakes. The final stop is the historic town of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can explore its ancient architecture and cultural landmarks.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival

Transfer from Split Airport to the hotel in Trogir.

Day 2 - Krka National Park

Transfer: Trogir – Skradin 1h / Skradin – Pag Island 2h, transfer duration: 3h
Hiking to Skradinski Buk: WALKING TIME 2h – 2h30 / TRAIL LENGTH 6.6km / ELEVATION GAIN 156m

Morning transfer to Krka National Park (60 minutes). In the morning, a 30-minute boat ride will take us to Skradinski Buk, the last and largest of the seven majestic travertine waterfalls on the Krka River. During the tour of this waterfall on a circular trail, we will discover various panoramic viewpoints, the oldest hydroelectric plant in Europe, as well as many interesting exhibition spaces that will immerse us in the traditions of the former inhabitants of the region. After a picnic break with the sound of Skradinski Buk in the background, we will return on foot along the banks of the Krka River to Skradin, where a swimming break awaits us at a beautiful beach with views of the Skradin Bridge and the Krka River estuary.
Then, transfer to Pag Island (2 hours), check-in at the hotel for 3 nights, free time, and dinner.

Day 3 - Free day on Pag and night kayaking

The excursion starts at Ručica Beach. After an introductory talk by the guide and the distribution of equipment, the adventure begins towards Beriknica Beach, where a first half-hour break is scheduled. Beriknica is one of the most attractive beaches on Pag Island, and also one of its symbols. It fascinates with its natural arrangement of three rocks in the sea, an experience particularly magical when observed under a starry sky.
Paddling is a true pleasure thanks to the multicolored lamps that illuminate the water beneath the kayaks, offering an unforgettable experience of the sea at night and a view of the sparkling sandy seabed. The route continues to Slana Beach, where a short break is planned to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the evening landscape, typical of the entire eastern coast of Pag Bay, irresistibly resembling the surface of the moon.
The return follows back to Ručica Beach. The unreal beauty of the landscape and the tranquility of the night paddling strokes make this experience unique.

Day 4 - Boat excursion to the islands of Olib and Silba

Transfers: Garden Resort – Novalja 15min / Novalja – Garden Resort 15min, total transfer time 30min

The boat departs from the port of Novalja, in front of the Loža Hotel, at 9:30 AM, heading towards the island of Olib.
The crossing lasts about an hour and a half. Once there, you will have free time to swim and explore the island before continuing to the island of Silba.
During the navigation, lunch will be served on board. Upon arrival on Silba, you will have free time to swim on one of the beautiful sandy beaches or visit the village of Silba, which is only a 10-minute walk from the dock. The island of Silba is also known as the “sunny island”, refreshed by the pleasant Mistral breeze in the afternoon.
Departure for Novalja is scheduled for 4:00 PM.

Day 5 - Paklenica National Park

Trail in Paklenica National Park: walking time 3h – 5h / distance between 7.8km and 12km / elevation gain between 580m and 780m – variations depending on the chosen option (with or without lunch at the Lugarnica lodge)

The hiking trail in Paklenica National Park takes us through the beautiful Velika Paklenica canyon, bordered by impressive climbing cliffs and the majestic Anića kuk, the highest rock face in Croatia.
Karst reliefs emerge from a dense beech forest and Mediterranean-influenced vegetation. Along the way, we follow the bed of the Velika Paklenica stream.
The highlight of our hike is the visit to Manita Peć cave, the only one of the many caves in Paklenica open to the public. The cave is rich in geological formations, and all the details will be explained by a local guide.
After visiting the cave, we will have a lunch break before descending to the bottom of the canyon and returning to the starting point.

Day 6 - Kayaking on the Mrežnica river

The upper canyon of the Mrežnica River, located between Primišlje and Tržić, is a true gem of the river set in the heart of unspoiled nature. It is accessed by going upstream from the mill and bridge near Tržić, on the road connecting Slunj and Tounj. The route passes through small waterfalls and rapids to an impressive waterfall in a canyon surrounded by steep cliffs, where the sun’s rays only penetrate briefly around noon. Despite this, in summer, the water is warm, perfect for swimming.
Further downstream, you will discover the tallest waterfalls of Mrežnica, reaching up to 8 meters in height – an ideal place for relaxation, swimming, and a picnic. In the afternoon, the return will be through the canyon and its waterfalls.
The adventure takes place in inflatable kayaks for two, which are easy to maneuver, with all necessary equipment provided: helmet, life jacket, paddle, neoprene suit, and waterproof jacket for cooler days. Waterproof containers are also available for your personal belongings, such as a camera, food, and drinks.
For the best experience, bring shorts or a swimsuit, a T-shirt, spare socks, sandals or sports shoes, a towel, sunscreen, and plenty of water.

Day 7 - Plitvice lakes National Park

A day dedicated to visiting part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed natural heritage, Plitvice Lakes National Park, the oldest and largest national park in Croatia.
For nearly 40 years, Plitvice Lakes has been part of the protected natural and cultural heritage sites on the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is famous for its 16 stunning interconnected lakes with crystal-clear blue-green waters, formed by the continuous evolution of travertine barriers. These lakes are the main phenomenon and the emblematic beauty of this national park.

English speaking licensed tourist and mountain guide who takes care of the group during the whole duration of the trip. The type of the tour determines the number of guides. It is possible to also have a licensed tourist guide for city tours.

Depending on the group, we can organize German, Italian, or French speaking guide.

Meals

Breakfast and dinner are served in the accommodation establishments or restaurants.
Lunch is provided in the form of a picnic.
The program can be adjusted to include room service, full board, or packed lunches.

Tour difficulty

The activities involve approximately 4 to 5 hours of walking per day, with an elevation gain of 300 to 500 meters. Good physical fitness is required. The program intensity can be adapted to participants’ physical condition.

Technical details of the tour

The terrain consists of limestone karst, which is abrasive and varies between mountains, forests, and plains. Sturdy footwear with ankle support is recommended. During summer, special care should be taken due to high temperatures.

Backpack and luggage

Wear layered clothing suitable for weather conditions. Sturdy hiking shoes are required, along with regular sneakers and beach sandals for different activities. Always carry a water bottle, sunscreen, and head protection (cap or hat). During hikes, bring a small backpack with essentials, and trekking poles if needed.

Luggage transfer

Throughout the trip, luggage is transported in the same vehicle. You can leave any items you do not need during activities in the vehicle, where they will be available after the activity.
